Osuuskunta Maitosuomi was created when two existing co-operatives, Osuuskunta Maitosuomi and Osuuskunta ItäMaito merged on September 1, 2019.
The milk procurement area of Maitosuomi includes 113 municipalities in the South Ostrobothnia, North Ostrobothnia, Swedish Ostrobothnia, Northern Häme, Central Finland, Southern Savonia, Northern Savonia, Kainuu and North Karelia regions.
In addition to dairy products and Valio's foodstuffs, the Valmakauppa stores also carry frozen foods, cleaning agents and protective equipment among other items.
